I find great comfort in the song, "Serenaded By Angels" by Kirk Talley and we dedicated the song to Mom..

She went to sleep one day,
Never here to awake again,
But everything was alright,
Between her and Him.
And she awoke in Heaven's courtyard,
Free from pain within,
The angels gathered 'round her
And they took her by the hand.....

Serenaded by angels....up to the throne
Serenaded by angels....finally at home
Surrounded by praises to the King...
Welcome to Paradise...The angels did sing.

Now I close my eyes at night
And I try to imagine
That city of brilliant Light
Waiting for me.....
But my mind cannot conceive
So I'll continue to grieve
Til I'm transported there
Then I will be.......

Serenaded by angels.....up to the throne
Serenaded by angels......finally at home
Surrounded by praises to the King
Welcome to Paradise, the angels will sing.

My sister and I sang a lot to our Mom to comfort her as she lie in the hospital bed, those last few days of her life. The doctors tried to "fix" her heart but they could only do so much. God is in control, He was ready to call Mom home with Him.

The life support machines were turned off and our family spent the last hour with Mom singing and praying. She was in no pain and she quietly closed her eyes and took her last breath. There was a Divine Presence in that room when she left us. We felt a peace that is beyond human understanding, it flooded our beings and that peace stayed with us for a long time after.

It was only natural that we sing for Mom at her funeral and as we sang " Serenaded by Angels", the peace of the Holy Spirit continued to give us comfort, courage, and strength.

Mom had great faith in our Lord Jesus and we know she is finally at Home with Him.
