Well little sis. . . It's late, i know and I hope you are sleeping soundly in your bed made out of soft clouds. I was listening to a song called "How it ends" by Devotchka and all of a sudden, I thought of you... It's a sad song and well i felt a tear run down my cheek and now they wont stop. I keep replaying that scene in my head of the night i woke up and decided to go into moms room to sleep on the floor and standing there looking at the bed, you started crying. . . I didn't know what had happened at the time and I have tried to block it out of my head for years now but it always comes back. If only I had known at the time that I would face sorrow and pain for the rest of my life. Most people that are close to me don't even realize the pain I suffer everyday as I think about you. All the times I would yell for mom to come get you out of my room so you wouldn't mess up the castle I was building with my Dr. Seuss books or my race track for my hot wheels cars. I now regret not spending every waking moment with you. At the viewing before your funeral is when it hit me the most. I was standing there at your casket. I cant remember if I was crying or not but Uncle Johnny came and knelt beside me and I turned and faced him and hugged him and really began crying. I was in pain, very emotional pain. Your little body laying in the casket like a shiny new porcelain doll. The smell coming from your body, probably stuff they used when they examined you. It was all to real and painful. I still can't believe your gone. . . You were so tiny. An amazing little sister who I would soon find out I wouldn't be able to live without. No one will ever feel the pain i suffered and am now suffering as I write this in your guest book. As tears flow down my cheeks and chest, I continue to hope that you are as peaceful as can be and I hope you play with all the Dr. Seuss books and hot wheels you can get your hands on because when I come up there, I want to spend all eternity with you and your beautiful soul. I love you more the whole wide world and the universe. You are the light of my heart. You are the greatest thing to ever happen to me. Once again, I love you. . . I really, really love you. . .

hello, tiny girl, i wish there was some way to hold you and kiss you and snuggle like we used to. pray for my strength to endure this separation. i don't think i can breathe much longer without you. time will not heal this wound. i miss you rhiannan. i just can't stand it anymore. betto misses you, too. he talks to you all the time so i'm sure you know that. and then there's daddy, pray for my patience with him!! Dearest Julie, I remember you as a little girl with blond hair and big blue eyes and your toes turned in like it was yesterday. Remember when we used to play Barbies? Time goes by so fast. I'm so sorry you had to feel the loss of your little girl. I don't think I would be strong enough to bear that burden. But not so long ago I was a little girl too with a very sorrowful childhood. But, God watched over me and healed that sorrow an d blessed me in ways I would not have thought possible. Life is full of hurts and losses but thank God there's more to life than what we experience here on this earth. I love you sweetie. I think of you often. Call me anytime. This memorial is truly beautiful, just like the little girl that I saw sleeping in her car seat when I saw her for the first time. When she opened her eyes, she looked just like a living doll... so much like her dear mother.

My dear friend, I can only guess at the depth of your pain. Your wild-haired angel has taken part of you with her, I know, and the wound that remains cannot be healed by anything but time. But we who love you are here to help you through that time, and help you to guide "John" with you. We may all be on different paths, but they all end at the same place. Some are shorter, some rockier, some even have detours, but eventually they converge where Rhiannan has already arrived. I am looking forward to meeting her there. Meantime, trust that your path will become smoother down the line, after this rough cliffside down which you're barely keeping your footing. Baby Girl wants you back on the smooth track again, too, and she's holding your hand in spirit, trying to help you along. She wants to see her mother start to love life again. So do I, my dear beloved friend.

My name is Cynthia Fisher, and I work with your aunt, Elaine Poole, at UT. Although I do not have any children, yet,I can only imagine the tremendous heartache you and your family must feel. We all said a silent prayer for Rhiannan, when we first heard of her problems. Elaine kept this beautiful picture of her on her desk, with her dark brown curly hair flowing all around, and we all felt just a small portion of the heartache you feel when we heard she was gone.
