Kari
Rebeka Bevels was born on November 30, 1980 in Waco, TX, the third daughter of David and
Kim Bevels. She was a member of Cayote United Methodist Church. A graduating Senior at
Whitney High School, she was a member of the softball team for the past two years. Her
first two years of high school were at Valley Mills where she was active in sports and
cheerleading. She cherished the time she spent with her friends. She enjoyed doing outdoor
activities and being with her family who love her, will continue to love her and miss her
until the great reunion when tears of sorrow will become tears of joy.
Survivors include her mother and father,
Kim and David Bevels of Cayote; two sisters, Stefanie Pick of Hewitt and Casey Bevels of
Cayote; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Crouch of Waxahachie; and maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Houghteling of Alberquerque, NM. |

Kari died
a very unexpected and early death. One night on May 2, 1999 God decided to wrap Kari in
His arms and carry her to Heaven.
Kari was known as the girl that never
quit, no matter how hard anything was she kept on going. Our softball team went 0-10 in
district, but yet she always had a smile on her face and a helpful cheer. She never gave
up on us and we never gave up on her. She will always be our "angel in the
field."
Even though Kari did not get to walk
across the stage as the graduating class of 1999, she was there with us in our hearts and
in spirit.
We all think of Kari daily and proudly
expose our blue ribbon in her memory. Thanks Kari for all of the great laughs,
friendships, and conversations we will never forget you.
We love you so much!!
