In Loving Memory of Our Daughter Kelsey Leeann Mayo

December 8, 1998 was the happiest day of our lives. That was the day our beautiful triplets came into this world. I remember the sigh of relief that I felt after I heard them all cry and I thought--they are going to be okay. If only I knew the worst was yet to come.

Kelsey was doing the best out of all three, so when we got the news on Christmas Day that she was very sick we were shocked! She had Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) which is a bowel disease that is common in premature babies and she died on New Year's Eve. She was such a fighter and she was so very much loved. She died in mommy and daddy's arms and both sets of grandparents were there with us to say good-bye. We miss you so much Kelsey and you will always be a part of your triplet brothers, Alec and Lucas and of course your big sister Makayla who misses you dearly.

You are forever in our hearts.

There's a special angel in Heaven
that is a part of me.
It is not where I want her
but where God wants her to be.
She was here but just a moment
like a night time shooting star.
And though she is in Heaven
she isn't very far.
She touched the hearts of many
like only an angel can do.
I would have held her every minute
if the end I only knew.
So I send this special message
to the Heaven up above.
Please take care of my angel
and send her all my love.
